I rented through Expedia for $189 a night. Stayed two nights. The reason for the 1 star is because they do not take responsibility for issues if you book through a third party, although I’m sure that was just an excuse. I woke up with severe back pain after the second night. I was pushing myself out of the dip in the center of the bed and didn’t realize it. I looked at the other bed and could clearly see a huge dip in the center of that one as well. When I talked to the person at the desk she was very nice but said the manager was off and couldn’t be reached she would have to get back to me. The next day when I called the office I was told they gave me $20 discount because I booked through a third party and got the best deal already. I paid $200 a night for a room with horrible beds a place with no continental breakfast or pool a hot tub, the ceilings are hardly insulated you here everything above like an old creaky house and the doors slam shut from every room that opens and closes all hours. I would NEVER stay here again because of the beds alone. I spent the last day of my vacation icing my back so I could stand up straight and who ever I talked to really could care less. $20 when I spent $400 is a joke a slap in the face. But I was told that regular price was $240 so basically I got an outstanding deal! I don’t think my back could have hurt worse if I slept in my car for free so what good does a great deal do when your in pain. And $200 a night or $240 regular price for no breakfast or any other amenities is ridiculous. I’ve stayed in air bnb’s and hotels all over in the last 5 yrs or so checking off my bucket list and have never woke up with back pain like this from a bed I slept in. For that price you could put a few tea bags in the rooms not everyone drinks coffee. Also you need real pillows, those flat lumpy pillows you have aren’t comfortable at all.

We have enjoyed our stay here and Helen has been one of the main reasons! She is so kind, professional and did everything she could to ensure our stay was comfortable, accommodating and overall pleasant. She seems to truly enjoy what she does and is absolutely wonderful at it! Thank you, Helen!!!!

"I stay at The Prairie Hotel frequently, and it truly feels like a home away from home. The rooms are always clean, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. Its location is perfect—within easy walking distance of Yelm Cinemas and great local dining like the UpTown Lounge.
What really sets this hotel apart is the staff. They treat every guest like family, but their kindness goes far beyond standard service. It’s rare to find that level of genuine compassion in the hospitality industry today. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Yelm area or heading toward Mt. Rainier."

My stay at the Prairie hotel was wonderful! Amy, one of the staff members, was incredibly helpful & kind. The room was beautiful, very clean, & a very peaceful respite after a long trip. So grateful! I will definitely come back if I return to the area. Thank you so much Prairie Hotel!

Safe location, very nice rooms, elevator, very quiet, lots of food options in lobby plus free coffee with creamer. Big parking lot, easy accessible. The manager Frank was extremely nice and very helpful.

The staff is fabulous, very accommodating, polite, and friendly. The place is clean, quiet and rooms are nice with coffee pot. Mini fridge and microwave. They do not serve breakfast, but so many places that deliver and many within walking distance (2-3 minute walk)

Very basic but well-kept hotel. Staff is great. There are no "extras" here but really don't need them as there are plenty of options for food and things to do in the area.
When I was searching for a hotel, this one never came up, just happened across it from a family member in the area. We would have stayed longer if we had found it sooner.
Rooms are comfortable, and beds could use some work.

Cleaner and more modern than I was expecting. Very comfortable room. The front desk staff was very accommodating. Continental breakfast is available for a small fee in the front office or there are restaurants and coffee stands within walking distance. Great place for pets.
