What are check-in and checkout times?

Guest check-in for our comfortable resort-style accommodations is available starting at 3 p.m. each day. Checkout is at 11 a.m.

What are good restaurants around the hotel?

Yelm has a growing selection of delicious dining spots. Guest favorites near the Prairie Hotel include Mr. Doug’s Restaurant (right next door!), Uptown Lounge for craft cocktails and comfort food, and Casa Mia for Italian fare.

Things to do around town?

From boutique shopping and local dining to visiting the Yelm Farmers Market (seasonal), there’s plenty to explore in town. Don’t miss a walk through Cochrane Memorial Park or a visit to the quirky and charming Tim’s Pharmacy & Gift Shop.

Hikes and outdoor activities? (mostly during the summer time)

Yelm is a gateway to outdoor adventure. During summer, enjoy scenic hikes along the Yelm-Tenino Trail, day trips to Mount Rainier National Park, or kayaking at nearby Clear Lake. Ask the front desk for trail maps and tips!

Events in town or close to town? (also in the summer time)

Yelm hosts seasonal events like Prairie Days, summer concerts in the park, and farmer’s markets. We keep an updated calendar at the front desk, or check out yelmwa.gov

Is there a big conference type space somewhere around town?

Yes! The Yelm Community Center offers large event space rentals for conferences, workshops, and community events. We also partner with them regularly and can assist with coordination if needed.

Is there a discount for blocking off rooms/ booking for an event?

Absolutely. We offer special group rates for room blocks booked for weddings, reunions, business events, and more. Please contact our front desk or sales team directly for availability and pricing.

Do we have any promotions with other businesses?

We frequently partner with local businesses and restaurants to offer exclusive guest perks. Check with the front desk or use our QR code during your stay, we’re happy to share current promotions or coupons.

Is there a rewards/loyalty program (this mostly gets asked by our regulars)

While we don’t have a formal rewards program at this time, we love our repeat guests and often extend courtesy upgrades or special offers when available. Be sure to let us know if you’re a returning guest!

Is there laundry service or a workout room?

We do offer on-site laundry facilities. Unfortunatly, we do not offer an on site gym facility. We do have a partnership with a local gym for a great deal on a drop in or day pass. Please visit the front desk for more details.

Do you serve breakfast?

While we do not serve breakfast on-site, Mr. Doug’s Restaurant is conveniently located next door and serves hearty breakfast options daily. Many guests enjoy the short walk and delicious menu, don’t feel like walking to Mr. Doug’s they will delivery breakfast to your room by calling 360-458-2255. What restaurants are within walking distance?

Within walking distance, you’ll find Mr. Doug’s Restaurant, Uptown Lounge, Casa Mia, for a casual bite; find the local Mexican food drive through across from the parking lot.

Recently, do you ahve charging spots for electric vehicles?

At this time, we do not have EV charging stations on-site. However, several public charging stations are located within a short drive in Yelm. We’ll be happy to guide you to the nearest one.

How close are you to Dr. Ana? Can i get a discount because I'm a patient of Dr. Ana?

We’re just minutes away from Dr. Ana and we do have a special relationship and rates for her patients. Please contact the front desk for more information.

Do you have conference space/meeting rooms for a group.

While we do not have a dedicated conference room on-site, we can assist you in arranging meeting space nearby through the Yelm Community Center or other local venues.

Do you have a business center?

We do not have a business center but are more than happy to help with small office necessities, like use of a fax machine and light printing at the front desk.

Is there shuttle service?

We do not currently offer a shuttle service. However, our team can assist with local taxi numbers, ride-share options, and nearby transit info to help you get where you need to go.

Do you offer group discounts for blocks of rooms? Can I bring my cat?

Yes, we offer group discounts for room blocks, perfect for weddings, reunions, or corporate stays. And yes… we are a pet-friendly hotel, however unfortunately we can not accept cats at this time! So feel free to bring your well manned small dog. Just let us know in advance so we can assign you to one of our pet-friendly rooms.

Do you have a pool/hot tub?

Our hotel does not have a pool or hot tub on-site, but we’re always happy to recommend local options where you can relax and unwind during your stay.

Do you allow Pets at your hotel?

Prairie Hotel welcomes your well-mannered small dog, with prior approval. There is an additional fee of $25.00 per dog per night. Please call us for more information on our Dog Policy at 360-458-8300.

Do you have smoking rooms?

The hotel is 100% non-smoking. Should guests smoke in any room or if there is evidence of smoking upon checkout, a cleaning/damage fee will apply.

What is your cancellation Policy?

Reservations must be cancelled within 24 hours of arrival to avoid a charge of one nights room and tax penalty. Group bookings require a 7 day notice of cancellation in writing to avoid charges.
